What I Wrote Wednesday – September

I love quotes. The right ones always seem to find you exactly when you need them. When they really speak to me, I write them down in my day planner. As the year wraps up, I’m going back to pull out what I wrote, month by month. It’s interesting to go back and think about what was going on in my life at that time, why those quotes meant something to me then and what they mean to me now.

Live without pretending, love without depending, listen without defending, speak without offending.

Don’t open your umbrella until it starts to rain

Every day is a new beginning.  Stay away from what might have been and look at what can be.

Somewhere, each day, we have to fall in love, with someone, something, some moment, event, phrase.  Somehow each day we must allow the softening of the heart.  Otherwise our hearts with move inevitably toward bynacism, bitterness, fear and despair.  We will move toward hardness. That’s where most of the world is trapped and doesn’t even know it.
– Richard Rohr

Work for a cause, not for applause.  Live life to express, not impress.  Never strive to make your presence noticed, just your absence felt.

Action may not always bring happiness, but there is not happiness without action.

When you stop working with your “shoulds” and start focusing on the reults, you will finally get the change you are after.

The first step toward getting what you want is having the courage to get rid of what you don’t.

The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

Be miserable or motivate yourself.  Always your choice.
